Day 104: Sertap Erener Konsert

Couldn’t help but enjoy the very Turkish-ness of the evening. We were unable make it through the front gate, had not once considered actually paying the 40 TL cover, and we spent the majority of the concert in the woods trying to find a way in. Turned out to be one of my favorite nights, just for the comedy of it all. Not to mention, Sertap has an extremely strong voice. Had a blast!

Sertap Erener

Some strategizing, scrambling, and a drink in hand the whole way. Hasan found a way down to the VIP section, but the others were nervous about climbing, so I went down as a test dummy. Despite the fact that we could all clearly see him at the bottom already, if I made it then they assumed that was somehow a more clear signal of safety? I’m not sure actually. I have fairly few boundaries. I actually waved Merhaba to two security guards as I walked by, found Hasan in the VIP and the two of us, after some insisting, made it in just fine. They told us we couldn’t stay back with security, and ushered us through the gates (with beverages they’d previously tried to ban AND no tickets). No less than 5 minutes later, we looked up and saw each of my best friends being by escorted out by security. But hey, the game is in making it not staying there. Still one of my favorite nights!
